California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp has tested a new feature that will display statuses in an orderly fashion using a new ranking system.
According to the WhatsApp beta info, the company is testing a feature that will show contacts’ statuses based on their popularity and importance, i.e. the people with whom users chat most often or with whom they have chatted recently. Their status updates will be more forthcoming.
This change could possibly be a part of the redesign introduced by WhatsApp.
This update will also introduce other changes to the app. One of which is the removal of time stamps from status updates.
The update is currently rolled out to beta users for testing and the company has not announced a feature release date.
