Quetta: In Balochistan’s Chaman area, severe clashes took place between the participants and the forces sitting on dharna for several days, which turned the Mall Road into a battleground.
When the FC and the police tried to disperse the protesters, the angry protesters attacked the forces while hurling petrol bombs at the armored vehicles and trying to set them on fire.
As a result of the clash with the protestors, 8 policemen and 9 FC personnel were injured along with many protestors. The participants of the sit-in in groups pelted stones at the forces, the protesters were dispersed by the police and FC using tear gas.
In view of the tense situation after the clash between the protestors and the police, emergency has been imposed in the hospitals, while the government offices in and around the protest site remained closed on Friday due to the tension.
