Karachi: Regarding the issuance of Pakistani identity cards to Afghan citizens, FIA has sought the details of NADRA officials.
According to Express News, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started an investigation into the issue of Pakistani identity cards being issued to Afghan citizens and has asked NADRA for the details of 6 Pakistani identity cards issued to them. In the letter issued by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, it has been asked to provide details and relevant records.
According to FIA, 6 identity cards have allegedly been issued to foreigners. Names of personnel processing ID cards, official details of system logins including details of form verifiers are also sought.
The details sought also include the identity card issued to an Afghan national named Zardad in the name of Mohibullah, who was arrested by the FIA. The details of 4 other identity cards, including the alleged mother of Mohibullah, Ameeran Bibi, have also been sought. Zardad, an Afghan citizen, was allegedly included in the family of Amiran Bibi to issue an identity card in the name of Mohibullah. NADRA has also been directed to appear with the required records to the Director Operations of Regional Headquarters NADRA.
