Mogadishu: In Somalia’s capital, gunmen stormed a house and opened fire indiscriminately, killing 10 people and injuring 3 others.

According to the World News Agency, a car bomb exploded outside a building in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, after which gunmen entered the house and opened fire.

Security personnel also reached immediately and retaliated. The exchange of fire continued for several hours.

Al-Shabaab, which calls itself an offshoot of al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the building housed Somali army officers who had taken part in a recent operation against us.

The army spokesman said that the attackers escaped due to retaliatory firing. The security forces evacuated the citizens trapped in the nearby buildings and shifted them to a safe place otherwise the loss of life would have been high.

It is not yet clear from the official level why the militants chose this house to attack and who were the occupants of the house while the identities of those killed and injured in the attack have not been revealed.

10 people were killed and 3 injured in the armed attack.

It should be noted that the army and local tribal militias in Somalia, with the help of US airstrikes and an African Union force known as ATMIS, have confined Al-Shabaab to rural areas of the country.

However, al-Shabaab fighters continue to emerge from these areas and carry out guerilla-style attacks on soldiers and government buildings in the capital.
