The students of Karachi have reached the Netherlands to gain expertise in the field of law, where they will gain awareness about the legal actions of the court.

A four-member delegation consisting of Mehboob Irshad, Mohammad Ali, Shahid Hussain and Fatima Samia, final year law students of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law in Karachi, reached the Netherlands where they attended the International Bar Association (IBA), International Criminal Court. (ICC) will participate in the Moot Court Competition in 2024.

The moot court competition will be held from 31st May to 7th June 2024 with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of the legal procedures of the barroom and the International Criminal Court, where the participants will present written and oral arguments in a mock case. Present arguments. The competition will provide students with first-time experience presenting legal arguments before expert panels that include judges from international courts, professors of international criminal law and other legal professionals.

The competition considers fundamental issues of international criminal law and consists of a written round and an oral round, in which arguments are presented during discussion. Competing teams play the roles of prosecutors, victims’ legal representatives and defense lawyers, and written briefs are prepared by legal experts to advance to the next rounds. Participants compete for various awards such as Best Speaker IBA Award and Best Memorial Award.

During this exciting week-long competition, students engage in educational and social programs including side events with ICC officials and other key stakeholders in international justice.

By representing Pakistan, these students are making the name of their university and country known internationally. His selection for this competition is a testament to his extraordinary talent and tireless work in the field of law.
