Karachi: The Sindh High Court ordered the Ministry of Defense to obtain and submit reports from all agencies and detention centers on the requests related to the recovery of missing citizens from different areas.

A hearing was held in front of a bench headed by Justice Nimatullah Phalphoto and comprising of Justice Umar Sial on the applications related to the recovery of missing citizens from different areas of Karachi. An important development has emerged regarding the disappearance of Darya Khan, a missing citizen from Steel Town. According to the police report, Darya Khan was arrested by the Hyderabad police.

The wife of missing citizen Sajjad Hussain from Mominabad appeared in the court. The wife said, “For many years I have been going round the police stations and courts, my husband was the head of the household and there is no one to earn.”

Justice Nimatullah Phalphotu remarked that what measures have been taken so far for the recovery of the citizen?

The investigating officer said that several JITs and provincial task force meetings have been held, the enforced disappearance of the citizen has been determined in the JITs, the summary of compensation to the families of the missing citizens has also been approved, but their families Refused to receive compensation.

The wife said that the money should not be returned to me, my husband should be returned, two years ago some secret agency admitted that my husband was with them but it has not been returned yet.

The court inquired that Sajjad Hussain used to work with jihadi organizations, did you ever stop him or ask him? The court directed to hold a JIT meeting and a provincial task force meeting to recover Sajjad Hussain and other citizens.

The court issued an order to continue the process for the recovery of the citizens. The court ordered the Ministry of Defense to get and submit the reports again from all the agencies and detention centers. The court adjourned the hearing till August 19.
