Peshawar: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced other measures including creation of new posts, purchase of vehicles, ban on treatment abroad at government expense to reduce expenses.
According to the Finance Department, the provincial government has announced austerity measures under which there will be a ban on the creation of new posts and the purchase of vehicles other than ambulances, fire brigades, apart from development projects.
Similarly, participation in workshops and seminars abroad at government expense, conducting seminars and workshops at government expense in five star hotels will be prohibited.
Treatment abroad will not be done at government expense, nor will the contracts of contract employees be extended.
According to the Finance Department, government departments will spend within the allocated funds and will not receive additional grants, similarly, vacancies will not be filled without prior approval.
The Chief Minister will form a cabinet committee to review the financial situation of the province and give suggestions for improvement, which will review the financial situation of the province on a quarterly basis.
