Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has called for a report from the Cabinet Secretary and said that it should be told why the local body elections in Islamabad are being delayed. The Home Secretary should provide legal justification for the notification regarding the appointment of the MCI Administrator otherwise an injunction will be issued.

According to Express News, the Supreme Court has sought a report from the Cabinet Secretary for not holding local body elections in Islamabad despite the court order. In the written order issued by the court of Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir in the last hearing, it has been said that the cabinet secretary should submit a report that why the local body elections of Islamabad are being delayed. The court has said that DG Law of Election Commission has submitted a report related to local body elections in Islamabad, in which it has been said that local body elections are ready to be held in Islamabad. Done.

There can be no excuse for delay, it is also a violation of the constitution and various judgments of the Supreme Court, as per the law, the appointment of the administrator of MCI can be done only for 6 months, every six months during the period of appointment of the administrator.
