Rawalpindi: People going to attend the funeral were hanged by robbers.

According to Express News, dacoits robbed 9 people who were going to pay funeral prayers in a robbery incident near Shahpur cemetery of Rawalpindi police station Sadar Baruni. The accused fled after stealing mobile phones, motorcycles and cash worth Rs 5 lakh, while the police could not reach the spot despite being informed.

The victim, Syed Naveed Shah, told police station president Baruni that he was going to perform funeral prayers with other people when he was stopped by 4 armed robbers near Shahpur graveyard. The accused stole mobile phones worth Rs 5 lakh, a motorcycle, more than Rs 4,000 in cash, driving license, motorcycle registration book and other items from 9 people who were going for funeral prayers and escaped easily.

On the other hand, the police say that a case of serious incident has been registered and the accused have not been identified yet. The statements of the victims of the incident are being taken so that the accused can be traced and arrested.
