Islamabad: On the issue of reserved seats in the Sunni Ittehad Council, the Supreme Court constituted a full court bench comprising all available 13 judges.

The head of the bench will be Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa. The hearing of the case will be held on June 3 at the request of the Sunni Unity Council.

According to sources, Justice Musarat Hilali is not included in the bench due to heart trouble.

It should be noted that a 3-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Supreme Court suspended the decision of the Peshawar High Court. The Sunni Ittehad Council had approached the Supreme Court against the Peshawar High Court’s decision to seek reserved seats.

The Peshawar High Court had upheld the decision to share the reserved seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council among other political parties.
