Karachi: Despite the poor economic conditions of the province, poverty and unemployment, the government of Sindh has completed preparations to buy new and expensive vehicles for hundreds of its officers, these vehicles are being purchased with the funds of the current financial year before the next budget.

In the recently held Sindh Cabinet meeting, formal approval was given to buy new vehicles, after which the Department of Services, General Administration and Coordination sent separate letters to all the commissioners and senior members of the Board of Revenue of the province and ordered the vehicles required by the concerned officers. According to the policy mentioned in the letter, 1300 cc Toyota Yaris will be purchased for assistant commissioners or mukhtars working in urban tehsils or sub-divisions and divisional and district headquarters of the province, while for mukhtars or assistant commissioners working in rural taluks or sub-divisions.
