Islamabad: Chairman of the Press Council of Pakistan Muhammad Arshad Khan Jadoon says that steps will be taken to deal with fake news and those affecting the reputation of national institutions.
In a special conversation with Express News, PCP Chairman Muhammad Arshad Khan Jadoon said that some organizations associated with journalism are causing economic and political instability in Pakistan by playing an irresponsible role, to fight fake news. PCP will use all its resources.
Arshad Khan said that Press Council of Pakistan will be upgraded according to international standards and relations with all publishing houses will be strengthened. Despite being a subsidiary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, there is no transport system in the institution, the budget received from the federation is spent on building rent and employee salaries.
Arshad Khan said that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been informed about this several times, but there is no hearing, court room, conference room, chairman office and monitoring cell have been established in the new building of the institution.
He said that five vehicles are allowed by the government but all the vehicles of our institution have been taken back by the establishment division, I myself use my personal vehicle.
He said that every possible support will be provided for the promotion of institutions that treat journalism as worship, there are newspapers in every village and city, which are being worked on to regulate the policy, against those who do irresponsible journalism. The stain will have to be removed.
He said that in all universities where communication subjects are taught, communication will be made with these universities and seminars and media conferences will be organized in consultation with senior journalists.
