Karachi: The meteorological department says that the heat wave may persist in the city of Quaid.
A hot and humid day was also recorded in the city on Thursday due to the effects of heat wave, In the morning, the air humidity rose to an alarming level of 79%, after which the mercury began to rise in the afternoon and due to the hot winds of Balochistan, there were also showers.
The mercury in the city crossed 36 degrees at 11 am on Thursday and 39 degrees at 2 am, while the humidity remained at 63 percent due to which the heat intensity was felt higher than the actual temperature.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius, the mercury may be recorded between 40 and 42 degrees on Friday.
The Meteorological Department says that the heat wave may continue till Monday, the intensity of the recent heat wave will gradually decrease from Monday, the highest mercury recorded in Jacobabad was 50.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
