Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made the increase in salaries of government employees subject to federal dues.
Advisor on Finance Muzamil Aslam says that if the federal government increases the salaries of employees by more than 10 percent, the provincial government will also increase the same amount, but this increase will be subject to the payment of the entire tax dues of the province by the federal government. Dec 2024 will be paid in lump sum from 1st July.
Muzamil Aslam said that only the collective demands will be taken into consideration, while the demands of the rest of the associations will be heard separately from July. Forced to choose between pension or salaries, pension reforms will be taken up after the federal budget.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has restored the health card from the first day and released funds for other relief works, the total revenue of the province is six and a half percent while 93.5 percent of the revenue comes from the federal government. Efforts are being made to increase revenue through spending cuts and tax reforms.
