Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet approved the recovery of property tax from Cantonment Board areas in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
According to Express News, the Sindh Cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The Sindh Cabinet decided that the Cantonment Boards will recover the property tax according to their own method, which after tax collection will keep two percent service charges and give the rest to the Sindh government.
Similarly, the Sindh Cabinet approved the project to increase water supply from the Hub Canal to Karachi. Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani said that the Sindh government was working on the PPP mode on the Hub Canal earlier, now the Hub Canal Project Sindh. The government wants to do it with its own grant.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government will now complete the Hub Canal project at its own expense.
Sindh Chief Minister directed to keep 750 million rupees for the Hub Canal project this year and said that we will give 12 billion rupees in the new fiscal year 2024-25.
