Georgia: Chronic constipation is the cause of many diseases and now experts have developed a drug-free shake capsule to treat it, which can relieve adults by doubling their ability to fight constipation.
According to a report published in the Journal of Gastroenterology, medical experts from the Medical College of Georgia and Augusta University Department of Health have created an inch-long capsule that produces vibrations in the intestines. This increases bowel movement and relieves constipation.
Satish Rao and his colleagues have developed the capsule, which has been tested on more than 300 adults at 90 centers across the United States. The capsule is made of latex-free plastic that can be swallowed like a pill. It goes into the stomach and vibrates for two hours. Patients underwent this phase for two hours per day for five days a week.
When the capsule enters the stomach, it vibrates for the first three seconds and then remains silent for 16 seconds. When the two daily sessions are over, the capsule is automatically excreted from the body. The patient feels very little externally, but it should be noted that this is not a drug, but a device that also moves the walls of the stomach, which speeds up the response and can relieve constipation.
Compared to those who did not use capsules, those who swallowed the vibrating capsule had 39% more bowel movement and less constipation.
It is expected that this capsule will help millions of people around the world.
