Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet approved the agreement to operate 50 electric buses in Karachi.
Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said in a statement that the Sindh Cabinet approved the 6-month rent of these buses for 412.5 million rupees. After eight years, these buses will become the property of the Sindh government.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government will continue to give 825 million rupees every year for the next 7 years. Currently, 50 buses are plying on 30 routes. The Sindh Cabinet approved the establishment of Council for Home Based Workers. Council for Home Based Workers was established under the Act 2018. The chairman of the council will be the secretary of labor while the members will include employers and employees’ union members. The council will protect domestic workers by registering them.
