Karachi: In Jangal Goth area of Gulshan Mimar, unknown armed suspects shot and killed a Water Board employee in the head after allegedly resisting robbery.
According to the police, a civilian was killed in firing near the water board society in Gulshan Mimar’s Jangal Goth area, whose body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the victim was identified as 45-year-old Rustam
The police said that SSP West Hafeezur Rehman Bugti reached the spot on receiving the information about the incident, while SSP West said that the nature of the incident could not be known immediately, but the investigation process has been started from various aspects.
He said that the deceased was an employee of the Water Board and he was going on a motorcycle when unknown suspects fired a shot on his head which proved to be fatal. Mobile phone and money are also found in the deceased’s pocket.
An eyewitness says that the incident took place during robbery resistance, the family members and relatives of the deceased have also declared the incident a murder due to robbery resistance, however, the police have started investigation on other aspects including robbery resistance.
The SSP said that there were no CCTV cameras at the spot and there was no electricity in the area when the incident took place.
