Lahore: As a gesture of goodwill, Pakistan released four Indian citizens, including a woman and her young son, who were victims of human trafficking, and handed them over to the Indian authorities at the Wagah border in Lahore.
Waheeda Begum and her young son Faiz Khan, who are among the Indian citizens who were released as goodwill, belong to the Indian state of Assam.
Waheeda Begum went missing along with her son on November 10, 2022, after the death of her husband Mohammad Mohsin Khan, after the death of her husband Mohammad Mohsin Khan, after selling a property worth Rs. A complaint was filed.

After her release from jail, Waheeda Begum told immigration and security officials at the Wagah border in Lahore that she wanted to take her son to Canada after her husband’s death, for which she paid an Indian agent a huge sum of money.
They said that the agent had promised them that he would send them to Iran via Afghanistan and then to Canada. The agent first took them to Dubai and then sent them from Dubai to Afghanistan while taking money and passports from them. After that he disappeared.
Waheeda Begum said that she reached Pakistan’s Chaman border from Afghanistan and told the authorities there that she was an Indian citizen and had been defrauded by an agent.
Pakistani authorities arrested her under the Foreign Act, then granted her immediate consular access and started the process of confirming her citizenship, which took several months and now she is returning with her son after completing her sentence. .
She said that she was thankful to the Pakistani authorities that she and her young son were well kept in the jail.
