Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that China is an important partner in Pakistan’s economic development, the government will provide all possible facilities to Chinese investors.

An important review meeting regarding increasing cooperation between Pakistan and China in various fields was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, in which proposals were presented by various federal ministries regarding Pakistan-China bilateral economic relations.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that China is an important partner in the economic development of Pakistan. Invite Chinese industry especially textile industry to set up industries in Pakistan. Pakistan wants to increase cooperation with China in agriculture, information technology, energy sectors on priority basis and increase exports of Pakistani products to China.

He said that the government will provide all possible facilities to Chinese industrialists and investors. Fool-proof security will be provided to Chinese residents living in Pakistan. A comprehensive plan has been prepared for the security of Chinese citizens. Preparations are being made for the next phase of CPEC. Gwadar port will be made a logistics hub with Chinese cooperation.

The Prime Minister said that the establishment of Agriculture Demonstration Zones will be an important project in the next phase of CPEC. The concerned ministries should prepare for new Pakistan-China cooperation projects and take steps to increase business-to-business ties. China can be helpful to Pakistan in formulating a strategy for increasing exports.
