Islamabad: The fire that broke out at four places on the Margalla hills in the federal capital could not be fully controlled despite several hours of struggle with the support of the Pakistan Army.
According to the details, due to intense heat, a fire suddenly broke out from the hills of Margalla in Islamabad, which immediately spread to four places and its smoke was visible from several kilometers away.
The smoke due to the fire spread in the city due to which the citizens had a little difficulty in breathing. The administration tried to douse the fire with the help of Rescue 1122 but failed.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed concern over the fire on Margalla hills and directed immediate steps to douse it, upon which NDMA provided helicopters and took massive measures to control the fire.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, there was fire at four places on Margalla Hills, for which helicopters were provided to control it. Squadron and helicopters of Pakistan Army assisted in extinguishing the fire.
He said that the fire at three places was brought under control, but the operation to extinguish the fire at one place is still going on despite darkness.
