Karachi: The Sindh High Court Bar Association filed a petition in the High Court against the law and order situation across the province including Karachi.
Sindh High Court Bar President Rehan Aziz Malik, General Secretary Sarfaraz Mithlu and others filed a petition in the Sindh High Court on law and order in the province.
The petition states that street criminals are rampant in Karachi, and the incidents of banditry in Kandhkot and Kashmore are on the rise.
The leadership of the bar said that mobile phones and vehicles are being stolen, kidnapping for ransom has increased.
The Sindh High Court has been requested to order immediate action against street criminals in Karachi and other cities, armed robberies, kidnapping for ransom, mobile phone and car theft.
The petitioners have said that an order should be made to ensure the safety of the citizens of Karachi, Kandhkot, Kashmore, Sukkur and Ghotki and an inquiry should be held against the police and other agencies for failing to maintain law and order.
The Sindh High Court Bar Association has made the federal and provincial governments, IG Sindh and others parties to the petition. The hearing on the petition is expected on Monday.
