Karachi: Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the Sindh government will build a solar park and provide electricity to the national grid, after which up to 100 units of electricity will be provided free of charge in Sindh. It has been decided in the meeting that up to 200 units will be provided electricity on payment of electricity bills.
Speaking at FPCCI, Nasir Hussain Shah said that the energy related suggestions of the business community will be implemented, the issue of load shedding and overbilling has been raised with the Ministry of Energy, CCI and NEC plates. It has been demanded on the form that tax should not be levied on solar.
He said that the Sindh government is making a program to make 100 units free, they will provide electricity from solar parks to the national grid, electricity companies should be asked to make electricity free up to 100 units, the position of the People’s Party is clear that tax on solar It will be very inappropriate to install and the PPP has repeated this in the Senate, there has definitely been some pick regarding solar, but the PPP will take a stand on it.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that the benefit of the solar park will be when the electricity is given to the industries at a reasonable price, 600/600 acres of land has been allocated for two solar parks in Karachi in Malir and Gharbi district, and solar parks are also being built in Jamshoro. In the upcoming budget, solar parks will be set up in Sukkur and other areas and electricity from these solar parks will be supplied to the national grid, after which the power companies will be asked to provide free electricity up to 100 units.
He said that solar is a very successful model, three programs are ongoing under the same model, I invite you to work together with the government, will follow the proposal of establishing an industrial park in Sukkur, the business community in Sindh and Balochistan. Many industries are working with us on solarization.
The provincial minister said that electricity from Sindh is being given to the National Grid at the lowest price, Sindh is giving the cheapest electricity from Thar Coal to the National Grid, and electricity is being given to the National Grid at Rs 5.50 per unit from Thar Coal. The second project of Sindh is giving 15 rupees unit, 60 rupees unit is being produced in the country and the first right has been given to the provinces in the constitution, projects have been started in three more blocks, there is a capacity of 100 power plants in Thar. .
