The ban on student organizations in the Federal Urdu University is a violation of the constitution and human rights
Karachi: Jamiat-e-Islami rejected the ban on student organizations in the Federal Urdu University as a violation of the constitution and human rights.
A ban was imposed on student organizations in the Federal Urdu University Karachi. The notification issued by the acting registrar of Urdu University said that all student organizations are banned in the Federal Urdu University. Student organizations cannot carry out any teaching or non-teaching activities within the university limits.
The order further stated that strict disciplinary action will be taken against the students who do not comply with this office order and the admission of such students will be canceled immediately.
On the other hand, Jamiat-e-Islami rejected this ban and said in its press release that the declaration of the acting registrar is a violation of the Constitution of Pakistan and international human rights.
Expressing concern over the seriousness of the matter, Jamiat called it an inappropriate and anti-student act. The statement further said that instead of solving the problems of the students, the administration of Jamia Urdu is showing its incompetence by banning them.
