Lahore: The Punjab government has decided not to charge any fee at the sale points of sacrificial animals, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to ensure zero waste on Bakra Eid.

According to Express News, a meeting of chief officers of municipal institutions across Punjab was held under the chairmanship of Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique. Municipal Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian, Additional Secretary Maria Tariq and others also participated in the meeting. In the meeting, Secretary Local Government Board briefed the participants that the Eid-ul-Azha plan was finalized.

Local Minister said that animal sale points will be established on the basis of “No Profit No Loss”, 10 days before Eid-ul-Azha and 3 days after the holidays of municipal employees will be banned, in every house with Qurbani in cities. Provide eco-friendly bags for free.

Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq said that he will make surprise visits to animal sale points in different cities. The Chief Minister has clear instructions that there will be no compromise on sanitation arrangements. Senior officers of Local Government Department should also visit the field. The Minister of Local Government asked each municipality for Eid-ul-Adha strategy in writing and instructed them to display their mobile number at prominent places and cell points, I will not tolerate negligence in cleanliness during Eid holidays.
