Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge Central Zabiha Khattak sentenced the accused to life imprisonment with hard labor after being found guilty of blasphemy.
The court pronounced the decision of the case against the accused Zaeem Imran, the prosecution was successful in proving the crime.
The court said in the verdict that the accused was convicted under Section 295B, the accused not only violated the law but also committed a crime. The accused has hurt the sentiments of the society by such an action, which the accused claimed in his stand, he could not prove. The accused could not say that if he did not commit the desecration, then who did.
Prosecutor Hannaz had taken the position that the case was registered against the accused by his wife, the husband blamed the plaintiff for using his wife’s mobile phone. The accused said that you take an oath on the Quran that you are not in contact with anyone else. After taking an oath on the Quran, the husband still did not believe, after which the husband set fire to the Holy Quran. When the wife tried to stop him, he was tortured. After this incident, the plaintiff filed a case and withdrew.
The accused denied the crime in court. The accused took the stand that his wife made a false accusation as she was having an illicit relationship.
According to the police, the incident of blasphemy of the Quran took place on February 2022, a case was registered against the accused in Tamimuria police station.
