Karachi: The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert in Sindh, but the Chief Meteorologist says that there is no possibility of a heat wave in Karachi.
According to the Department of Meteorology, due to the ongoing heat wave in the province, the temperature in Dadu, Qamber, Shahdadkot, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, Nowshehrofiroz, Shaheed Benazirabad will be 6 to 8 degrees below normal during the day. There is a possibility of increase.
Khairpur, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tandwalhiar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Tharparkar and Badin may see a rise in maximum temperature of 4 to 6 degrees.
Jamshoro, Thatta, Sajawal are expected to increase the maximum temperature by 2 to 4 degrees. Jamshoro is likely to receive rain at isolated places with thundershowers on Tuesday evening.
According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfraz, there is no possibility of heat wave in Karachi, the weather may remain hot and humid in Karachi for 3 days.
Asrdar Sarfraz said that heat wave means an increase of 4 to 5 degrees from the normal temperature, if the temperature is continuously recorded for 4 days, then this situation is called heat wave.
He said that there is no possibility of any such situation arising in Karachi, but the weather is expected to remain hot and humid for the next 10 days, during which the mercury may record between 36 and 38 degrees.
