Sheikh Rashid, Faisal Javed, Ali Nawaz Awan, Shah Mehmood, Qasim Suri, Khurram Nawaz, Saifullah Niazi, Zartaj Gul were also acquitted.
Islamabad: Courts acquitted Imran Khan in 3 cases including May 9 and Azadi March.
The local court of Islamabad acquitted PTI founder in three cases including May 9, Azadi March vandalism case and violation of Article 144.
The court also acquitted Sheikh Rasheed and Faisal Javed in the cases of vandalism and violation of section 144 in Kohsar police station and Karachi police station.
In the case registered in Kohsar police station, the court of Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Khan also acquitted PTI founder Sheikh Rasheed, Faisal Javed, Nawaz Awan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Qasim Suri, Raja Khurram Nawaz.
The case was registered for violation of Section 144 of the Azadi March.
On the other hand, Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas Khan heard the petitions of founder PTI and other leaders in the cases filed in Karachi Police Station during Azadi March.
The court acquitted PTI founder Faisal Javed, Ali Nawaz Awan, Saifullah Niazi, Zartaj Gul, Asad Umar in a reserved verdict.
The PTI founder was also acquitted in the May 9 trial at Thana Khanna. The Judicial Magistrate issued the verdict of acquittal in the May 9 trial of the PTI founder, saying that according to the case, the PTI founder had instigated others, but there was no evidence on record against him.
According to the judgement, the evidence on record is not sufficient to prove the allegations against founder PTI, the court cannot proceed with the case against founder PTI on such record.
The judgment further said that an accused cannot be deprived of his legal right without any reason, the case of the prosecution is not based on solid evidence, even if the prosecution records the existing evidence, the founder PTI is guilty of the crime. It is not proved, considering the facts, the story of the prosecution has become highly suspicious, if the case is tried in the light of the existing evidence, the valuable time of the court will be wasted.
The court ordered that PTI founder’s petition in the case filed on May 9, 2023 in Khanna police station is acquitted.
