Such actions of CTD police are also harming the country’s interest, Anti-Terrorism Court
Peshawar: The Anti-Terrorism Court ordered the immediate release of the accused arrested without evidence in the case of attack on Agriculture Training Institute Peshawar.
The court rejected the plea of 30-day physical remand of the arrested accused and said that if the accused is not involved in another case, he should be released immediately.
Anti-Terrorism Judge Azghar Ali Shah issued a two-page written decision saying that the attack on the Agriculture Institute in 2017 resulted in loss of human life and financial loss, arresting the accused Hamaduddin alias Arbab five years after the incident. Gaya, there is no evidence on record of his involvement in the incident.
The distinguished judge said in the judgment that it has come to the knowledge of the court that the CTD arrests citizens without documentary evidence in many cases, this action of the CTD police is misuse of powers, such actions also harm the national interest. Damage is being done and the reputation of CTD Police is getting damaged.
The court said in the verdict that such an action of CTD also raises the confidence of the people in the judicial system, the investigating officer should take action in the future, if this happens again, legal action will be taken against him.
