Lahore: PDMA has issued an alert for heat wave, rains and storm in Punjab this month.
According to the spokesman, till May 18, most of the districts of the province may experience dusty winds and rain with thunder. Rawalpindi, Murree, Guliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, Gujranwala are forecasted to rain with strong winds. Apart from this, there are chances of thunderstorms in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali.
According to PDMA, the average temperature is likely to increase by 8 degrees this month. There are chances of heat wave in Punjab from May 21 to 27. The weather will be dry and the temperature will be 6 degrees above normal.
Officials say that an alert has been issued to the district administration as per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab. People will also have to be careful with the increase in the intensity of heat and cold. Arrange to avoid working loos during the afternoon. An alert has also been issued to the Department of Health, Irrigation, Construction and Communications, Local Government and Livestock.
