The accused belongs to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan commander Azmatullah group
Karachi: CTD Sindh and the federal sensitive agency conducted a targeted operation on Noris Chowrangi Manghopir Road, arrested the commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban and recovered an American-made hand grenade.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department spokesman, Yousuf Khan alias Gul Yusuf, a terrorist of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban, was arrested during the operation, who belongs to the Azmatullah group, the commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
The accused had joined Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in 2006 and along with his associates had attacked the FC in Sila Sui Fort in South Waziristan in 2009 under the leadership of his team commander Noor Wali.
Apart from this, the accused detonated a remote control bomb on the FC vehicle in Sarukai Paisa, South Waziristan, in which 6 jawans of the force were injured. A case of terrorism has been registered against the accused in police station CTD Karachi and further investigation is underway.
