Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan summoned the Supreme Court while issuing show cause notices to Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal for contempt of court and remarked that if you want to criticize, come forward.
On Senator Faisal Vawda’s press conference, a 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, is hearing the suo motu case, in which Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman appeared in the court. The Chief Justice inquired whether he heard the press conference of Faisal Vawda, to which the Additional Attorney General said that the complete video has not reached me yet, some part has been heard in the news.

The Chief Justice inquired whether this press conference falls under the category of contempt of court. If a case is pending in the court, can an opinion be given on it?
Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that more than that was said against me. But will you start to underestimate institutions? If I did something wrong, tell me, not the court. Lawyers, judges and journalists are all good and bad people. I may have seen 500 defects in this institution. The responsibility of the father’s sin cannot be given to the son. Do you want to lower the prestige of the judiciary with such things?

The Chief Justice remarked that he tried to bring transparency, reduced his powers, the weakest person who carries a gun and abuses. Whoever ends the argument, he picks up a gun or abuses. A commissioner got up and said I rigged the elections. Tell me, how can the Chief Justice be rigged? Such accusations are not made in religious societies.
The Chief Justice said that taking advantage of my neglect, he thought that we should also make a speech. Tell me what is bad. Will not allow the organization to be targeted. Institutions belong to the people. Defaming institutions is not a service to the country.

The Chief Justice said that he will never defend those who endorse martial law. If I have done something wrong, it cannot be punished by other judges. The gun bearer is the weakest because he has nothing to say. The second level is weak abuser. A commissioner accused me, the whole media ran it.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa remarked that in civilized societies no one would say such things, so there would be no contempt of court notices. What’s the need for shouting and drama, be sure to criticize constructively. After Faisal Vavuda, Mustafa Kamal also came forward. Both men are members of Parliament, speaking in the House. Why did you choose the Press Club to have such a conversation?

The Chief Justice said that the conduct of judges cannot be discussed even in Parliament. If the contempt of court action is taken, who will be the victim in the case? The Prosecutor will be the Attorney General. Speaking to the Additional Attorney General, the Chief Justice said that now the weight is on your shoulders. Should there be a show cause notice or just a notice?
The Chief Justice remarked that every citizen of the country is a part of the judiciary. Hitler has passed in Germany, no one cries there till today. Admit mistakes and move on. In school, if the child admits the cover, the teacher’s attitude changes.
Later, the court summoned Faisal Woda and Mustafa Kamal. The Chief Justice said that whatever you want to criticize, do it in front of us. Issue notices to both persons. Come and criticize us.
The Supreme Court issued show-cause notices to Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal in the contempt of court case and summoned them in personal capacity on June 5. The court also sought the video recording and text of the press conferences of Faisal Vavda and Mustafa Kamal from PEMRA and also issued a notice to the Attorney General for assistance in this regard.
