Islamabad: In the Faizabad dharna review case, the Supreme Court has expressed disbelief on the report of the commission and said that the commission treated the parties unequally and prepared the report against the given TORs.
The Supreme Court issued the written order of the previous hearing of the Faizabad dharna revision case, saying that the commission’s report was contrary to the TOR and the commission had gone beyond its mandate to insist that a particular person had done nothing wrong. .
The order said that the commission merely relied on the person’s written rebuttal and did not treat all the parties equally, taking an affidavit from one party and a simple statement from the other.
The Supreme Court said that the commission did not even give the two parties an opportunity to cross-examine each other, the provincialism in the report is disappointing, there are only phrases and terms and no concrete content.
The order said that the Attorney General also said that the report is devoid of concrete content, no statement of any party of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) was taken.
Regarding the publication of the commission’s report, the Supreme Court said that the Attorney General should submit the response to the federal government within two weeks.
Giving an opportunity to the members of the commission to make statements, the order said that the members of the inquiry commission can submit written responses and appear in person if they wish.
The Supreme Court has said in the order that the federal government should submit its reply on the report of the inquiry commission.
