Islamabad: The government has prepared new rules and regulations for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), according to which direct arrest of any politician will not be possible in future.
According to the details, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq had a meeting with Chairman NAB, according to the inside story, the Speaker informed the Chairman NAB about the new SOPs.
According to the new SOPs, NAB will not be able to arrest any politician directly, NAB will contact the Speaker and Chairman Senate on complaints against members and will not take action on mere allegations.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq informed Chairman NAB about the new rules and regulations and said that no MP will be allowed to be arrested even at the level of investigation, while no officer of NAB will make a statement in the media or in public.
According to the new rules and regulations, the NAB officer will give a statement only when a reference is filed against the political leader and the officer who violates the orders can be sentenced to imprisonment from one month to one year and a fine of one million rupees.
