Karachi: The Sindh government has started work on the appointment of vice-chancellors in the newly established university and in the already established public universities in Karachi, these universities include Karachi Metropolitan University, Law University and Lyari University.

According to Express, the Sindh government has given the charge of the vice chancellor of the said university to Dr. Saeed Qureshi, vice chancellor of Dow University of Health and Sciences, in connection with the formal opening of “Karachi Metropolitan University” which was established by charter about a year ago. who will also take over the responsibility of the permanent vice-chancellor of the Karachi Metropolitan University until the appointment of the permanent vice-chancellor of the university, while also giving approval to advertise for the appointment of the permanent vice-chancellor of the university and for the appointment of the permanent vice-chancellor of the Karachi Metropolitan University. Advertisement will be released in next few days.

It should be remembered that this university was established after the Karachi Medical and Dental College charter was given. At present this college is affiliated to University of Karachi and is under the city government. With the establishment of this university located in North Nazimabad, there will be three medical universities at the government level in Karachi. A notification has been issued in this regard.

Meanwhile, the charge of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law has been taken from the Vice Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, Dr. Saeed Qureshi, and given to the Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madrasaul Islam University, Dr. Mujeebuddin Memon, and until the appointment of the permanent Vice Chancellor of the Law University. Dr. Mujeebuddin Memon will also be in charge of this university.

Sources of the Sindh government said that a summary of the advertisement for the appointment of a new permanent vice-chancellor in Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari has been sent to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The summary states that the second four-year term of Dr. Akhtar Baloch, the permanent vice-chancellor of the university, is coming to an end in September.

It should be noted that Dr. Akhtar Baloch has been on forced leave for more than two years since a dispute with a woman member of the assembly and vice chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon is in charge of Lyari University. In the past two years, the Sindh government reinstated Dr. Akhtar Baloch and did not appoint a permanent vice-chancellor in his place, but the university was run by the acting vice-chancellor.
