Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the clinic on wheels project.
According to Express News, Maryam Nawaz reached Shahi Qila Alamgiri door, where she inspected the clinic on wheels and reviewed the medical facilities including medicines. On this occasion, he also interacted with the staff of Clinic on Wheels.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz commissioned 100 more Rural Ambulance Service (1034) for the villages of the province. He traveled a short distance by riding in a clinic-on-wheel van. On the same occasion, he also inaugurated the “Doctor at every health center” project.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz was briefed about the project, in which it was stated that 200 clinics on wheels have been set up for the residents of semi-urban Orkchiabadi, which will be staffed by doctors, LHVs and vaccinators. Free medicines and ultrasound will also be provided.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz said that I am thankful to Allah for allowing us to cross another milestone in the health sector. I congratulate both the health ministers, the health secretary and the entire health department. It is true that it takes 2 months to straighten the government.
He said that the previous government had reversed the straightforward works of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. I am carrying forward the successful projects of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif is most happy and satisfied with my projects. 200 clinics on wheels and more than 100 ambulances are bringing health facilities to the doorsteps of the people. Our aim is that people do not have to go to the hospital.
Maryam Nawaz said that she pays tribute to Shahbaz Sharif that he started this program. Now this program is being extended further. These vehicles will have one doctor, one LHV and one dispenser. Medicines, necessary medical tests will be provided in this vehicle. It will have facility for mother and child along with ultrasound facility in some vehicles. This program will benefit 4 million people annually.
Chief Minister Punjab said that I personally call people daily and ask if they have any problem regarding health facilities. Through the 1034 helpline, pregnant women will be able to be transported from home to hospital and back home with this vehicle. This facility will be provided free to pregnant women. They are also bringing such a program in remote areas that every primary health center will have doctors, nurses and medical staff.
He said that new doctors are being recruited through the Public Service Commission. They are taking Punjab out of the dark era and leading it towards development. Containers and vehicles can be used not only for protest but also for treatment. A child’s kidney transplant was done in Jinnah Hospital today, for which I congratulate the doctors. We are bringing air ambulance soon but before that we are bringing state of the art heart disease facilities in 8 districts so that heart diseases can be treated in time in big cities. Its scope will soon be extended to all cities. We will also bring free insulin service in Punjab soon.
