Bollywood’s most popular and versatile singer Sonu Nigam and his team were attacked during a concert in Mumbai but remained safe.
According to Indian media reports, Sonu Nigam was performing at a festival in Chembur when the son of a local MLA, who belongs to the Shiv Sena party, along with his friends misbehaved with the singer’s manager Saira.
According to media reports, during the concert, the local MLA’s son tried to meet Sonu Nigam and take a picture, but his bodyguards stopped him and the matter escalated into a scuffle.
Meanwhile, two colleagues of Sonu Nigam were injured and have been shifted to a local hospital, but Sonu Nigam remained safe.
The video of the incident is going viral on social media in which some people can be seen scuffling with Sonu Nigam.
On the other hand, Maharashtra State Commission for Women member Saparda Phatarpakar tweeted identifying herself as the organizer of the chamber festival and said that the management apologized to Sonu Nigam and her team.
He said in another tweet that it was his brother who was trying to take a selfie with the singer.
He said that Sonongam was safe in this incident, but the one who was injured was shifted to the hospital where he was discharged after treatment.
He also appealed to the people not to believe those who tried to politicize the incident.
The police have also confirmed the incident while Sonu Nigam has reached the police station to file a report of the incident. According to the police, they are investigating the matter.
