Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered to speed up the crackdown to stop over-billing and electricity theft.
A meeting was held at the FIA Lahore Zonal Office under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, in which the progress on the action against over-billing and electricity thieves was reviewed.
Federal Interior Minister reviewed the progress on the instructions given during the last visit while Director FIA Lahore Sarfraz Vark gave a briefing.
Mohsin Naqvi directed that indiscriminate action should be continued against the officers who burden the citizens through over-billing. Zero tolerance policy on overbilling will continue.
Mohsin Naqvi said that it is not acceptable to punish citizens for the incompetence and negligence of discos, it is a priority to give relief to electricity consumers in over-billing.
The Interior Minister ordered to continue the action against the electricity thieves and said that action should be taken against the government staff involved in electricity theft.
