Accountability Court has issued notices for arguments on Nawaz Sharif’s acquittal plea
Islamabad: PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif filed an acquittal petition in the Tosha Khana reference.
A hearing was held in the Accountability Court Islamabad on the reference of Toshakhana vehicles against President Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s pleader Rana Muhammad Irfan appeared and filed an acquittal plea on his behalf in the Tosha Khana vehicle reference.
The prosecutor said that I will send this application to the NAB headquarters, give a short notice. Accountability Court has issued notices of May 23 for arguments on the plea of acquittal of Nawaz Sharif.
Lawyer Arshad Tabriz said that President Asif Ali has presidential immunity and the case cannot proceed to his extent. The NAB prosecutor replied that they have received the request regarding the presidential immunity and are reviewing it.
The accountability court adjourned the hearing on the Tosha Khana reference till June 3.
