Pakistan’s first satellite mission to the moon took off from China today, with a team of Pakistani experts present at the space center when it was sent into space from the Hainan Space Launch Site.

The space mission was originally scheduled to be launched at 12:50 PM, but due to weather conditions, the departure time of Chang’e-6 has been changed and before the final countdown, the Chang’e-6 mission will undergo all final checks and rehearsals. Also completed.

Dr Khurram Khurshid, a member of the Core Committee of the Institute of Space Technology, said that the design and development of iCube Qamar was done in collaboration with China and Sparco. It has two cameras installed in iCube Qamar to take pictures of the moon.

Pakistan’s satellite will weigh 7 kg and will orbit the moon. The images taken from this mission will be used for research purposes.

Pakistan’s satellite iCube Qamar is associated with the Chinese mission. The 7-kilogram iCube Q2 is equipped with optical cameras that will take pictures of the lunar surface.

The Chang’e-6 mission will travel 5 days to approach the Moon and the iCube Qamar will orbit the Moon. The satellite will orbit the moon for 3 to 6 months

The iCube will take images of the Qamar South Pole and its initial data will be received by the Chinese Space Agency, while this data will also be received by Sparco and the Institute of Space Technology in Pakistan.

The purpose of the Chinese mission Chang’e Six is ​​to collect samples from the Moon. iCube Qamar is designed by Pakistani scientists.

According to Chinese experts, the weather conditions are good and the mission will reach the moon on time.

In this regard, Director Institute of Space Technology Shafaat Ali said that this mission will be useful for the future project.
