Islamabad: HC dismisses IB’s bench plea in AudioLeaks case
Justice Babar Sattar heard a separate petition filed by IB seeking withdrawal of bench objection in the audio leaks case, in which the Assistant Attorney General said he wanted to withdraw IB’s bench objection in the audio leaks case.
Justice Babar Sattar remarked that your objection petition has already been dismissed. When the order comes, you will get it. In the order, DGIB has been put on notice as to why contempt proceedings should not be taken against them. The order also asked who had given the authority to file the petition. The answer you have to give will be given after receiving the order.

Later, the court also dismissed the IB’s separate plea to withdraw the objection on the bench.
It should be noted that 4 institutions including IB had filed requests to separate from the case objecting to Justice Babar Sattar. The petitions of PEMRA, PTA and FIA were dismissed by the court with fines of Rs 5.5 lakh. IB had filed a separate application to withdraw the objection after imposing a penalty of Rs 15 lakh on the other 3 institutions.
