Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet has decided to introduce premium number plates for vehicles.
In the Sindh Cabinet meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, introducing premium number plates for vehicles, allocating one and a half billion rupees for the purchase of MRI system for SIUT Sukkur, deploying rangers in Karachi Division. A meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House in which several important decisions were approved, including the extension of another 6 months and the release of Rs 10.189 billion for payment of dues of retired government employees.
Excise and Taxation Minister Sharjeel Memon proposed to the cabinet to introduce premium number plates for vehicles, premium number plates have unique features such as personal property that can be inherited and transferred to another vehicle. There are three types of premium number plates, Platinum, Golden and Silver, Platinum number plates have a maximum of three characters and a base price of Rs 20 lakh, Golden number plates have a maximum of five characters and a base price of Rs 10 lakh while Silver number The cabinet approved the proposal with a maximum of seven characters and a base price of Rs 50,000.
The Health Department informed the Cabinet that Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) Karachi has requested the release of funds of Rs.1500 million for 2023-2024. Approved billions of Rs.
The Sindh Cabinet has approved the extension of the period of deployment of Pakistan Rangers in Karachi Division under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Secretary Finance Fayyaz Jatoi while briefing the Cabinet said that 19,537 government employees will receive dues after retirement till November 30, 2023. Looking forward to 36.842 billion rupees in payment of liabilities.
The Chief Minister approved the release of Rs 10 crore with the consent of the Cabinet, in August 2023, the Cabinet had approved the construction of the interchange along with the reconstruction of the Kathur Interchange from NHA at a cost of Rs 2.4 billion. Later, the cost of this work was estimated at Rs 3.5 billion. The issue of arrears of Rs 1.1 billion and approval of Rs 2.4 billion was placed before the Cabinet. The Cabinet approved Rs.3,529.237 million.
The Cabinet appointed Muhammad Anwar as the President/CEO of Sindh Bank Limited for three years. The cabinet also approved the appointment of Farhan Ashraf Khan and Imran Samad as non-executive directors of Sindh Bank for three years.
The provincial cabinet approved the appointment of Abdul Rauf Chandio as the chief executive director of Sindh Mudaraba Management Limited. Approved the nomination of Coal and Energy Board.
