Lahore: A policeman was martyred by the firing of a motorcyclist in Taksali Gate area, special teams were formed to arrest the accused.
According to Express News, a motorcycle-riding assailant opened fire on a Bawardi policeman in Taksali Gate area, as a result of which the policeman was seriously injured, who was immediately shifted to the hospital, but he could not survive.
According to police sources, the martyred policeman was identified as Constable Ghulam Rasool, who was standing at a cigarette shop when a motorcycle-borne assailant opened fire on him.
A photograph of the attacker has also surfaced in which he is seen riding a red motorcycle wearing a purple shirt and a red helmet.
According to the DIG investigation, the martyred constable Ghulam Rasool was posted in the judicial wing.
It should be noted that a policeman has been targeted for the second time in Taksali Gate area, earlier also a motorcyclist had fired at two policemen as a result of which a sub-inspector was martyred.
Meanwhile, special teams have been formed under the leadership of SP City Investigation for the immediate arrest of the accused, and an order has also been issued to take the help of modern technology including data analysis, geo-fencing to arrest the accused.
Besides, DIG Investigation Zeeshan Asghar visited the crime scene in Taksali Gate. Expressing regret over the martyrdom of the police constable, he said that the accused will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
