The arrested accused along with one of his accomplices had initially demanded Rs 2 crore and later Rs 1 crore from Shehryar, a resident of North Nazimabad. On the complaint of the citizen, the North Nazimabad Police started the action by registering a case against the accused.
The arrested accused disclosed that he used to do cattle business with Shahryar, for which he got into debt. Accused Dilawar said that he had made a plan with Faisal to ask for extortion because he was fed up with Shahryar’s repeated demands.
The accused revealed that Faisal belonged to the Lyari gang, who made extortion calls to citizens using foreign numbers. According to the police, raids are being conducted to arrest Faisal, the other accomplice of the arrested accused, who will be arrested soon. The investigation has been started by registering a case of illegal arms against the arrested accused separately under the Arms Act No. 245/2024.
