Peshawar: The court suspended the Election Commission’s notice sent to Chief Minister Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.
The hearing on the petition of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur against the notice of the Election Commission was conducted by a 2-member bench consisting of Justice SM Atiq Shah and Justice Shakeel Ahmed of Peshawar High Court, in which Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah and Malik Sami. Allah Advocate appeared.
The lawyer told the court that the Election Commission has issued a notice to Ali Amin Gandapur and directed him to appear today. The Election Commission has issued a notice to clarify the 2022/23 returns. They are asking for clarification of previous years’ statements, they are not authorized to do so.
The lawyer argued that in the return of 2024, he has given the details of the assets. The Returning Officer at the time of scrutiny of the nomination papers scrutinized the assets carefully. All these things are available on the Election Commission website.
Later, the court suspended the notice of the Election Commission and issued a notice to the Election Commission and asked for a response on the next hearing on May 22.
