Lahore: In Punjab, state land has been identified in five cities for a housing scheme for low-income homeless people.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in which a briefing was given on the construction of model houses and monthly installments.
In the meeting, approval was given in principle for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” project on 519 kanals of land in five major cities including Lahore. It was agreed to consult the Pakistan Council for Architects and Town Planners for the maps of the houses.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to launch the “Apni Chhat… Apna Ghar” project near the cities, while she has also ordered steps to prepare the best houses at minimum cost.
In the meeting, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Senator Pervez Rasheed, Minister of Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, SMBR, Chairman P&D, Secretary Housing, Secretary Finance, Commissioner Lahore and other officials. were also present.
