Torkham border crossing closed for the second day today

Peshawar: Torkham border crossing remains closed for all traffic for the second day today.

According to security sources, two days ago, an Afghan citizen tried to enter Pakistan without a visa along with a patient, on which the FC authorities sent the Afghan citizen back to Afghanistan.

Enraged at the repatriation of the Afghan national, the Afghan forces closed the border for all traffic, while last morning Afghan forces fired unprovoked at FC check posts, injuring an FC official.

On unprovoked firing by Afghan forces, the FC personnel retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for several hours.

Diplomatic level talks are likely to be held in Islamabad today to resolve the matter.
