Karachi: Provincial Minister for Energy, Development and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that disconnection of electricity to other houses due to a few consumers who do not pay electricity bills is abuse of electricity bill collectors along with papbandi.
Addressing a function held at a local hotel in Karachi, the provincial minister said that the government will take quick action on the issue of punishing those who pay bills because of a few consumers.
Sindh Energy Minister said on this occasion that the government is concerned about the growing complaints of consumers such as over-billing, unannounced load-shedding, unnecessary power cuts by electricity distribution companies in the province, which should be addressed and addressed by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto. According to the vision, to provide maximum relief to the people, the Sindh Energy Department is preparing a strategy to address the complaints of the consumers and action will be taken soon in this regard.
Nasir Hussain Shah in his address further said that alternative energy is the most important need of the hour while the sources of alternative energy in Sindh province are unlimited. Sindh Energy Department is engaged in practical steps to utilize these natural alternative energy sources.
He said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s vision is to light up every house in the province and provide them with electricity through solarization. Under this vision, the Energy Department is providing solar system to five lakh households in the most backward areas of Sindh province. Apart from this, with the support of the World Bank, the work of providing electricity to two lakh households through solarization is going on.
