Peshawar: Three people, including two officials and an informer, were killed and two others were injured when unknown persons fired on customs officials late at night near York Toll Plaza in DI Khan.
According to the police, the customs officials were sitting in a car at the bridge where the unknown assailants escaped after firing, police personnel and other law enforcers reached the spot.
The dead and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital. The martyred officers have been identified as Inspector Hasnain and Constable Ziad Jadoun and Mukhbar Amir.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the incident of firing on the customs officials in the limits of Dera Ismail Khan police station York and expressed sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of the officials.
It should be noted that three days ago the vehicle of Customs Intelligence was targeted by unknown persons on Draban Road in which five officials including an inspector were martyred.
