Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 more people including 2 children were killed in the ongoing stormy rains, after which the total number of dead has increased to 46.
According to Express News, 2 children died and 8 people became unconscious in the torrential rain at Qadir Kundu in the border area of Swat and Dir. According to initial reports, 10 people were going to Swat on foot from Nahagdara when they got stuck in the torrential rain on the way. The local people shifted the unconscious people to Wadi Hospital. The deceased children were identified as Jawaria and Arzu.
Meanwhile, 2 people including a woman were injured when the roof of a mud house collapsed in Mohalla Miangano of Nowshera Valai village. The rescue team shifted the injured to the hospital for medical assistance.
On the other hand, according to the latest report of PDMA, the number of people who died due to heavy rains in the entire province has increased to 46, while 60 people were injured. Among the dead, 25 children, 12 men and 9 women, while among the injured 11 women, 33 men and 16 children are included.
A total of 2875 houses were damaged due to the collapse of walls and roofs in different districts during the rains, in which 436 houses were completely damaged while 2439 houses were partially damaged.
Due to heavy rains, life and financial accidents occurred in various districts of Khyber, Dir Upper and Lower, Chitral Upper, Swat, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Mapmand, Malakand, Kirk, Tank, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Bunir, Hangu, Occurred in Bitgram, Bannu, North and South Waziristan, Kohat, DI Khan and Akzai.
Apart from this, the heavy rains of late are still continuing, resulting in flooding in the rivers and low-level flooding in the Panjkora River. GT Road has been closed for traffic due to flooding in Talash Shamshi Khan rain drain, due to which long queues of vehicles were formed.
A person fell from the vehicle and got swept away in the flood channel in Talash Shamshi Khan Rainfall, whose body was recovered, which was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Timargarh by the local people. Heavy rains washed away large amounts of crops in the Panjkora river, causing tremendous financial loss to farmers.
